Invitation to Parents of Primary , Junior and Infants

Mass (followed by Buffet Lunch in Centre) will be held on Sunday 21st September at 12(noon) for all parents of younger children of the parish. Invitations will sent by post at the end of August and beginning of September but also will be found in the Sunday Bulletin in case any family mght be overlooked. Grandparents-if availble - are also invited. Please return the Invitation forms or reply by e-mail or leave a reply on the answering machine. We need to supply the caterers with numbers for the lunch. So kindly let us have the replies early in September.

Installation of New Stained Glass Window

Our Lady of Saddleworth

The New window is of more modern design than the older windows. It was sketched by a local artist, a member of the Parish, Anne Kirkman, and installed by a local designer of stained glsss windows. (Such as happened in medieval times) It represents something of the history of the ethos and the environs of Saddleworth. Hence the background is moorland with the canal in the foreground and Pots-and Pans in the backdrop to the scene.
Mary wears the woven shawl of a 19th century Mill girl. The colours chosen are based on 13th Centuries frescos painted in the Scroveni Chapel at Padua.

Masses , Meetings and Events for Young People

YOUTH NEWS. Youth Mass Dates: 14th September 2008; 12th October;23rd November;14th December; 11th January 2009;8th February; 8th March;10th May;21st June; Possible Youth "activities" 9th November 2008 Pots & Pans walk for Remembrance Sunday. 12th July 2009 Picnic afer Mass.
Youth Shrine Visit possibly York -no date
arranged. Next Year there are two places available for the Across Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
